Express Mail Madmoon service is one of the new Saudi Post services, which provides insurance cover for official documents such as passports, Iqamas, Credit Cards, educational certificates, checks and contracts. Madmoon is an optional service and saves citizens and residents a lot of effort, time, money, travel or hardship of going to a governmental department to hand deliver valuable items. Saudi Post has opened offices in some governmental authorities and Islamic courts so that there is insurance cover for all foreign and domestic mail according to the needs of clients. The Madmoon Service is distinguishable from all others as it provides insurance on all dispatched items. Those containing official documents are covered up to ten thousand riyals and the service also provides insurance cover for any other items up to 35 thousand riyals. The Madmoon service is priced to encourage people to use the service at 3 SR per enclosed item for documents and 1% of the value of the items sent for everything else (subject to a minimum of 20 SR).
The reason for providing this service is to further diversify the products and services offered by the Express Mail sector and fill an important gap in the needs of our customers, as well as attracting new ones.

Documents Covered by Madmoon Service:
Originals of official documents such as passports, Iqamas, civil cards, on the condition that they are valid.
Originals of educational and professional certificates, as well as checks and property contracts.
Instructions and Insurance Requirements:
Insurance can be provided on important documents such as governmental documents like passports and civil ID documents provided that these documents are valid, as well as educational certificates and contracts of ownership and similar types of documents.
The insurance can be on packages containing gifts, samples of goods or commercial goods and provided by attaching the approved bill to illustrate the value of contents.
The maximum insurance payout for documents is Ten Thousand Riyals and for parcels is Thirty-Five Thousand Riyals.
The item to be insured must be presented at the Express Mail window.
In the case of loss or damage of documents in the whole or part, which prohibits the item from fulfilling its intended use, the compensation amount is equivalent to the value plus a lump sum to compensate the other direct costs, which is four hundred riyals and up to a maximum of ten thousand riyals for the contents of one package.
Insurance is not deserved in the following cases:
If the loss or damage has been caused by a ‘force majeure’.
Lack of normal weight.
Cases of fraud, leading to the overstatement of the value of the contents.
Inquiries made about the item outside of the allowed time.
Self- damage of the item because of the nature of its contents.
Fault or neglect of the consignor or the consignee.
Confiscation or destruction of the item by the customs authority or any other governmental authority.
